8th & Main Senior Residences

Independence, Kansas

The 8th & Main Senior Residences are comprised of the restoration and adaptive reuse of a historic building in downtown Independence, Kansas. The building known as the Union Implement Company/Masonic Temple Building will be converted into 18 new senior apartments. A fire destroyed much of the original interior on the back half of the building and the entire roof structure. The renovation and restoration of the building will include new elevator to provide accessibility for the residents and a community space with manager’s office. The renovation of this building will provide new tenants in the heart of Independence’s downtown and will help to solidify the ongoing redevelopment of the downtown area.
