Roasters Block, The

Kansas City

8th Street & Broadway Boulevard

In 2016, the two Folgers Coffee Co. buildings (earliest dating back to 1912) will become the $35 million Roaster’s Block development, housing 146 market-rate apartments averaging 1,000 square-foot. The project will include demolition of equipment that was used to produce coffee before being vacated in 2012. In addition, a large silo structure between the two buildings will be replaced by an open courtyard that will include a pool and gathering areas. Other amenities will include a fitness center and coffee bar. The plant's larger, south building will include underground parking on basement and sub-basement floors. Surface lots will serve the north building and accommodate overflow parking from the south building.
