Route 66 Landing Single Family Homes
38 North Main Street
SWD Architects designed 18 new single family homes on scattered sites throughout the city of Miami. Sustainable building techniques and materials were integrated into the design and construction of each home. SWD worked closely with its consultants to determine the most cost-effective method to reach higher energy performance goals. Improving the structure’s insulation envelope, installing high performance doors and windows, and high efficiency MEP systems are just a few of the numerous enhancements. Design aesthetics employed include the use of a brick wainscot, durable fiber cement lap siding, and simulated shake roofing shingles. The site was enhanced by the addition of trees, landscaping, and modular block retaining walls. SWD is privileged to coordinate the neighborhood improvements for the city of Miami.
