Oakland Heights is comprised of 39 single family homes, 68 townhome units, a 1,600 square foot leasing and management office and maintenance shop. The project has achieved ENERGY STAR Homes program certification, as well as Enterprise Green Communities certification (the 1st project certified in Missouri), using nationally recognized sustainable building techniques.

SWD worked closely with its consultants to determine the most cost-effective method to reach higher energy performance goals. Improving the structure’s insulation envelope, installing high performance doors and windows, and high efficiency MEP systems are just a few of the numerous enhancements.

Concurrently, SWD coordinated the effort to improve the existing urban ecology, which has been proven to reduce crime rates in affordable multi-family areas.

Design aesthetics employed include the utilization of a durable cementitious lap siding, along with simulated shake roofing shingles. The site was enhanced by the addition of trees, landscaping, modular retaining walls and site illumination. SWD was privileged to coordinate the neighborhood improvements for the Oakland Heights project.
